A drop in sink is an easy addition to any bathroom

With a few easy steps you can quickly and effectively install a drop in sink with minimal effort and materials.

Instructions

things you'll need:

  • Plumbers putty

1. Turn the sink upside down on a soft non scratching surface. Create a template out of a piece of cardboard by tracing around the rim of the sink.
2.  Take the sink and if applicable attach the faucet before you install the drop in sink. It will be easier now where you have more room to work.
3.  Take the template and set it on the counter you plan to drop the sink into. Trace a pencil line 1/2 an inch inside the cut out edge of the template. This 1/2 inch lip will support the sink.
4.  Apply plumbers putty on the 1/2 lip from the above step. Use a bead of about the size that comes from a toothpaste tube.
5. Attach the drain flange and any other remaining hardware fittings to the sink.
6. Now install the drop in sink by setting it on the plumbers putty and pressing down. Finish the job by caulking around the sink.
